Paying by Direct Debit

To set up or change a direct debit, please download our direct debit form, print and complete it, then post to us using the address on the form.

We’ll need at least 10 working days before your payment is due to set up or change a direct debit.

For mortgages held in personal names:

  • Direct debits can only be set up from a bank account in the name of at least one of the mortgage holders.

For mortgages held by a limited company:

  • Direct debits can only be set up from a bank account in the name of the company.

If you can’t pay monthly by direct debit, then use the following details to pay us, depending on the type of mortgage you have. Please ensure you input these details correctly.

Please use your mortgage account number as the reference.

Change a payment date

You can change your monthly payment date, but please be aware that on standard mortgage accounts, you can’t miss a monthly payment.

So if you’re changing your payment date from the last day of the month to the first day of the month, you’ll initially have to make two consecutive payments (one payment on the last day of the month, then another payment the next day as it’s the first day of the next month).

How long it takes to process payments

It depends on how you paid:

Payment method Processing time
Debit card Immediate
Cheque Date of receipt. We can’t hold post-dated cheques.
CHAPS or Telegraphic Transfer Same day - If your payment was sent before 3pm on a working day.

The end of the next working day - If your payment was sent after 3pm, or on a non-working day.
BACs We’ll apply the payment as soon as we get it. They usually take 2 to 3 working days to reach us.

Please quote your mortgage account number as the reference.

If your payment hasn’t been applied to your account, contact us with the following details:

  • mortgage account number
  • the exact amount paid
  • the payment date.
